Gotham City Sirens #21

This was another great issue of Sirens. Two in a row after a so-so opening arc for Calloway on this book! Harley succumbs to her love for the Joker after all. I loved it and I wasn’t expecting that but I should have! The story of the Guards’ kid was very sad and showed just how twisted the Joker really is. I didn’t expect Catwoman and Ivy to part ways in this either. Love the art as well!

Supergirl (Volume 5) #62

Not sure what is going on here – so is Alex a kryptonian? I doubt it. I loved seeing Miss Martian here (why isn’t she in Titans again?) but this issue didn’t really do it for me. It was neither great nor bad.

Batman Incorporated #4

This was just fucking fantastic awesome greatness of a comic! Best issue yet! We get the history of Kathy Kane – the original Batwoman and Morrison singlehandedly explains how she fits in continuity and how it all relates to his huge megaplot. Who is Dr. Dedalus? Was he really Kathy’s father? What is this war everyone is talking about? I didn’t see all this coming but Morrison hits it out of the park too and Burnham’s art is fantastic I love how he switches his style with the time periods.

Green Arrow (Volume 5) #10

We learn the truth about Galahad in this issue and it is interesting but I am not really interested in this forest anymore and will be glad when this series moves past this. Whatever happened to the Black Arrow plotline Krul talked about in interviews by the way? Not a bad issue, I am just ready to move on from this.

Power Girl (Volume 2) #22

I wonder if Winick is setting up Ophelia Day as Power Girl’s “Lex Luthor” in the way that Veronica Cale is Wonder Woman’s “Lex Luthor.” I found it kind of funny that Superman was telling Power Girl that it was too easy to figure out that Karen Starr and Power Girl are one and the same as if Clark Kent and Superman isn’t but this is the DC Universe so whatever. Good issue and it will be interesting to see where things go here post-Generation Lost.

Teen Titans (Volume 3) #92

This is the conclusion of the crossover with Red Robin that began here. It was decent I am just so sick of the Calculator as a villain. DC needs to give him a rest. The biggest thing to come out of this issue was Red Robin returning to the Titans with Robin leaving. I did not see that coming actually I figured they would keep Damian on for longer but I have no problem with that. I wonder how this will affect Cassie’s leadership though.

Teen Titans (Volume 3) #93

Now this is more like it! The Titans travel to India to search for Solstice’s missing parents. Solstice is interesting as Krul seems to be setting her up as anti-Raven – a magical character that is bright instead of dark. He also sets up Kid Flash crushing on her – much as his predecessor Wally had a crush on Raven back in the day. I didn’t mind Tim taking over leadership as long as it was something that Cassie wanted. Great stuff. When Krul took over the book was returning to greatness, now I think it has officially returned.

Green Lantern: Emerald Warriors #8

This is part 3 of the War of the Green Lanterns storyline that began here and continued here. In this part Hal and Guy come to blows after meeting in a the secret "Green House” of the Corps and Tomasi did a great job of showing their rivalry over the years. I loved how Pasarin drew Guy in his different costumes punching Hal as Lantern Constructs. In the end, of course, they take off their rings. I have to say that this was a great issue even though Hal was in it (Tomasi doesn’t write Hal as being quite as unlikable as Johns does I think.)

UH what just happened in this comic?! Lex Luthor puts his mind into some sort of Phantom Zone prisoner that hates negative emotion. I loved it don’t get me wrong but I am not sure if I followed exactly what happened. I am glad that Brainiac did not end up being the big bad after all. That would have been too easy. Now what shall become of Lex hmmm.

Wonder Woman #609

Wow Hester really manages to show us the spirit of who Wonder Woman is – not only in her various incarnations – but within people who embodies her ideals and characterization through time. It was really a great issue. And the way he showed this – through her enemy Doctor Psycho who only wants things to return to normal so that he could be close to her in some way again. It was great. I really did not expect this to be that good.

Justice Society of America #49

I was a tad dissapointed with the conclusion of this Supertown arc. We new that Jay Garrick was going to the mayor of Monument Point from the beginning/ There real only surprise here was Alan Scott’s new costume (Which I like by the way) and the return of some of the other JSA members. We still don’t know anything about the new characters like Red Beetle but she acts like an old friend when she addresses the JSA. I guess I just want to know who is a part of the team now and who is not.
