Titans (Volume 2) #1
Written by Judd Winick
Art by Ian Churchill
The classic Teen Titans from the eighties regroup after they are each attacked by a mysterious foe who turns out to be trigon. This series has gotten a lot of negative publicity around the blogosphere and I really can’t understand why. This issue was awesome and made me so happy to see this group together again. The art was beautiful, everything about it was perfect. I also like the idea of the Titans not being an actual team, but just a group of friends.

The art changes this issue due to Churchill getting a hand injury, and this is not a good thing. I really dug Churchill’s, I really don’t dig Benitez’s. All of the people are drawn like sticks and they have the weirdest faces. The story is still good though, and I am surprised no one thought of Trigon having other children before. It is still a lot of fun to see these guys back together.

This issue explored some of the psyches of each of the Titans by having Trigon’s sons effecting their emotions. Starfire and Nightwing feel desire, Donna Troy and the Flash feel envy, and Red Arrow, Beast Boy, and Raven get rage. It was a good read. The art wasn’t as bad as last issue, I suppose because it wasn’t as rushed.

Aw…the last scene of them yelling Titans Forever and talking about growing up together really made me smile. This was the best issue yet….Winick comes up with a clever way for the defeat of Trigon and I loved the moments between Beast Boy and Raven. This is Winick at his best….if only he would always write this way.

Teen Titans (Volume 3) #37
Written by Geoff Johns

Wow, I mean just wow. That is the word that sums up this issue, wow. This was a very emotional read…so many great moments. Teen Titans is the best series that DC is putting out right now and I think everyone should be reading it. I feel like anything I say about this issue will be an understatement. It is just that good. The ending was kinda shocking but not unlikely, lots of people come together in the face of trajedy. I just hope to god it does not become a regular thing. I loved the scenes where the members talk to Cyborg and basically all of the other scenes in this issue too!

That one page where they listed all the members of the Teen Titans in the last year with their picture, that got me so excited! I can not wait to meet each and everyone of them. This book is really making the most out of the one year gap. I love the rivalry between Wonder Girl and Ravager. The team’s roster is now Wonder Girl, Robin, Cyborg, Ravager, and Kid Devil. I imagine that more members will join up as this storyline unfolds.

I think I drooled a little bit while reading this. It was just that good. I love Miss Martian, I hope she joins the Titans full time. I hope she is not the traiter. Zatara is a brat but I still like him, don’t know why. Bombshell, I don’t like. She seems like such a bitch. I hope Ravager isn’t the traiter. I have loved her in this book so far.

I sure as hell am glad that Miss Martian nor Ravager is the traitor, but it the one character I hated, Bombshell! The Teen Titans kick her ass this issue too. I look forward to seeing Jericho back on the team and back alive. He may have a terrible costume, but he is a great character. Now that I think about it, the Titans seem to be always searching for Raven. Someone should tell her this time not to run off again. Great Issue. Can’t wait for the next!

Teen Titans (Volume 3) #36
Written by Geoff Johns
Art and Cover by Tony Daniel and Kevin Conrad
I really loved this issue. It single handedly got me looking for old Doom Patrol issues. This was a team I could care less about before and now I am fascinated with them. Thank you, Geoff! There were so many great moments in this issue I was drooling. The chief is a weird son of a bitch, Vox is an improvement of the Mal Duncan character, Bumblebee is as cool as ever, Negative Man (not Hush my bad) and Robotman are back as well as Elasti-Girl who has been “regrown” by the chief. Tony Daniel is quickly becoming my current favorite artist. And Geoff Johns remains as my all time favorite writer. Even with an entire superhero team guest starring in this issue, Geoff still manages to make it about the titans. We learn a secret about Kid Devil which shocked me. In about three issues I already care about the character and I wonder why he made up all the calls from Blue Devil. Geoff even manages to make me like the Brain and Monsier Mallah, I never thought that would happen. Great Issue!

Teen Titans (Volume 3) #35
Written by Geoff Johns
Art and cover by Tony Daniel and Sandra Hope
Tony Daniel is quickly becoming one of my favorite artists and I think everyone should check out his blog which I have linked on the right. He really makes the One Year Later Titans twice as good as they were before. I really am liking this new status quo. I know, I know, it seems like I like everything but I don’t care, I think that is a good thing. Much Like Robin’s new costume, I think I am finally used to Wonder Girl’s new attire. It is growing on me. I loved the overtly sexual scene with the Ravager and Robin, that was just funny and unlike most femal heroes, it makes sense for the Ravager to be slutty. I mean she is the daughter of Deathstroke for christ sake. The only real problem I found with this issue is the brotherhood of evil. I really don’t get what is so fascinating about them. I never have found them that interesting but apparently a lot of people like them since they keep coming back. The last shot of the new Doom Patrol was cool and I seem to be the only one that assumed that that was Hush and not Negative Man at first. I am probably wrong about this since everyone else in the internet comic communuity assumed it was Negative Man but I am still hoping I am right and it is Hush. Just so I can say I was right!
