Detective Comics #852
Written by Paul Dini
Art by Dustin Nguyen
Now this was darn good. Dini returns to the title to do a “Faces of Evil” focusing on Hush. I don’t know why I didn’t put it together that with Bruce gone, Hush, who has turned himself into Bruce, would try to take over his life. It is perfect, and in a way is exactly what the villain has always wanted to do. As I keep saying, Dini has turned this character into something that Loeb or Lieberman never could, a good character. This issue is told through his perspective has he goes around the world enjoying being Bruce Wayne. Of course it isn’t long before Catwoman decides he is having a little too much fun! I love how vindictive Dini writes Selina to be. Oh and there is even an appearance by the Tasmanian Devil – odd but an interesting choice. Face of Evil is so far, so good.
